Self love is the best love! Today, more than ever, women have been embracing their figures – curves and all!  theCURVYcon, a diverse international community of plus size and body positive content creators, celebrities, fans, and brands, recently announced it will be expanding through additional events and content experiences, beginning with a team-based fitness event and a podcast series.

Co-founded in 2015 by lifestyle influencers Chastity Garner Valentine, Founder of GarnerStyle.com and CeCe Olisa, Founder of CeCeOlisa.com. Made possible by a strategic growth partnership with leading retailer Dia&Co, the new offerings will roll out over the summer in the lead up to theCURVYcon’s flagship conference, which will return to New York Fashion Week in September with an expanded presence at a new venue in LA.

“We started off as a half day event on one floor and we have now expanded to three days using a completely different building so the response has been really positive,” states Olisa. “Curvy Con is about fashion but it is also about seeing women in different stages in their lives. Our work is to get brands to serve plus sized women and treat them at the same level as all women.”

The two created theCURVYcon to bring body positivity to women of all sizes. “Our mission is to spread the message of body positivity and fashion inclusivity until it’s a way of life for all of us; that’s why we’re expanding theCURVYcon by launching events in additional markets and creating content available to wide audiences,” said Olisa. “We’re excited to use our platform and relationship with Dia&Co to build communities of women who feel empowered.”

As part of its strategic growth partnership with theCURVYcon, Dia&Co will not only return as title sponsor for the September conference, but has invested in the new initiatives to bring theCURVYcon to more women across the country.

With over 80% of American women considered to be ‘obese’, (size 14+), women are now speaking out, encouraging one another, and ditching the so-called ‘size 2 perfect body’ imagery. Over the years women of all ages have been scrutinized, questioned, and challenged to reach unattainable body goals in order to ‘fit in and be the perfect size.’ Click HERE for tickets!
