Wanderluxxe Sundance Review – The Highly Anticipated Lounge Delivers Once Again

Wanderluxxe, once again, is delivering a full slate of events while at Sundance. This year the team is spearheading a Wellness Lounge AND a Filmmaker Lounge both presented by Essential Costa RicaFrom January 25th through January 28th the bustling hotspot delivered a variety of programming, including panels led by TheWrap’s staff.

Essential Costa Rica took over the space to transform it into the travel destination sought after by so many. Nestled between Nicaragua and Panama, Costa Rica offers visitors an abundance of unique wildlife, landscapes and climates – meaning a trip to this Central American country is anything but run-of-the-mill — its Pura Vida! Costa Rica Tourism representatives discussed the efforts of the country to increase sustainability in the years to come.

The wellness lounge operated daily from 11:00am – 4:30pm, with 10:00am daily scheduled yoga sessions by lululemon, a daily Apres Ski from 3-5pm featuring a Costa Rican spiked coffee bar with KobricksPeroniTito’s Vodka cocktails, and ice cream treats by My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream. 
One of the highly anticipated panels was titled, “Coffee and Conversation” with Tichina Arnold.

Arnold, who is making her Sundance debut for the film The Last Black Man in San Francisco has been making her rounds on inclusion and diversity in media and film. Earlier she spoke with Essence about the importance of black men seeing the film.


“I think every Black man in America should see this film. There are so many textures to this film that I think people are doing to be able to appreciate in years to come, Arnold states. “It shows so many sides of the Black man that you don’t normally get to see,” she continued. “And aside from that, it talks about gentrification, it talks about homelessness, it hits on a lot of issues that we’re dealing with today.”Other panel highlights include: “Diversity Representation,” “Women in Entertainment” and “Industry Innovation.”
In addition to panels and daily gifting lounges, the hub was also home to  activations and film celebrations such as the Company 3 party featuring a performance by Macy Gray with APEX Social Club of PALMS Casino Resort.

Celebs such as: David Arquette, Tim Daly, David Oyelowo, Storm Reid, Alfre Woodard, Samira Wiley, Macy Gray, Richard Schiff, Danielle Brooks, Richard Gunn, Tichina Arnold, Wendell Pierce, The Backpack Kid, Diana Madison, Ryan Cabrera, Amy Hargraeves, Alia Shawkat, Jonathan Kite, RJ Mitte, Avan Jogia and more stopped by the WanderLuxxe Filmmaker Lounge.

Spyder provided guests with gloves and fleece blankets to break away from the cold. The three-level lounge also held a beauty bar by Stare Cosmetics for attendees to freshen up! The Lovely LobaREME, and Sunlighten were additional sponsors of the highly anticipated pop-up. Needless to say this was a must stop lounge!
