If there is anyone who knows about achieving high performance and optimal body functionality, it’s a professional athlete. Athletes train their entire lives to be the best in their sports, exercising for hours per day, eating to fuel their bodies and supplementing their diet with only the best vitamins and nutrients. That pride and passion doesn’t stop when their athletic goals are met – whether that’s winning an Olympic medal, playing for a professional team or coaching others. Athletes often aim to achieve their best, both physically and mentally, long after they exit the hypothetical court.
Gabby Reece is no exception. Reece is an icon in many ways. Not only is she a volleyball legend, having played beach volleyball professionally and competing in the Olympics, she’s an inspirational health and fitness leader, podcast host, corporate speaker, New York Times bestselling author, wife and mother. She was Nike’s first female spokeswoman, has been a model and is a business entrepreneur (she and husband Laird Hamilton, a surfer launched Laird Superfood in 2015). Reece is truly a force to be reckoned with. To maintain that force, reach vitality and aim for longevity, she understands that treating her body as a temple is key.

Exercise and movement are non-negotiable for Reece and are incorporated into her daily life. She believes in fueling the body with healthy foods and using wellness treatments, such as saunas and cold plunges to aid in overall health and athletic performance. While Reece is no longer spiking volleyballs in the sand, she is still aiming to be the best version of herself she can be, and she is coaching others to do the same. She recently partnered with Stemregen and Love.Life to host a group of leading athletes, TV personalities and journalists, and give them a glimpse into the ongoing training of one of the best athletes of our time.
Love.Life, a beautiful wellness facility located in El Segundo, California is an integrated health and wellness company offering a new approach to healthcare that empowers individuals to take ownership of their health potential and live longer, better and more vibrant lives. The company was co-founded in 2020 by Whole Foods Market Co-Founder and former CEO, John Mackey; Walter Robb, former Co-CEO of Whole Foods; and Betsy Foster, a former executive of the grocer. The facility features a state-of-the-art gym, pickleball courts, cold plunge tubs, saunas, cryotherapy, acupuncture and a delicious café, among many other amenities. It was the perfect setting for Reece to spend a day sharing her expertise on all things wellness.

Following a circuit training workout that was intense but proved you can pack everything you need into a short amount of time, guests were guided through a relaxing breathwork session led by Reece, then tested their nerves with a dip into a cold plunge followed by a hot sauna. Throughout each part of the day, guests learned why the activity at play was beneficial to their overall health and wellness. The day wrapped with a delicious and healthy lunch provided by Love.Life and a conversation with Gabby Reece and Christian Drapeau, the founder of Stemregen.
Stem cells play a crucial role in daily tissue rejuvenation, the basis for muscle repair. This is crucial for any athlete. At the start of his career Drapeau, a neurophysiologist set out to travel the world in search of plants historically known for their broad impact on health conditions. Throughout his travels, which took him to remote regions like Madagascar and the Tibetan plateau, he spoke with medicinal healers, shamans, biochemists, and many others with insight into longevity remedies. It was during this time that he discovered Aloe macroclada and high-altitude sea buckthorn berry, both of which he discovered demonstrated a significant effect on stem cells. He learned that locals had seen incredible benefits from these natural supplements. In 2016, after years of research and development, Drapeau introduced the first formulation of Stemregen, a proprietary blend of plant-based extracts documented to support stem cell release. This product has gone on to benefit people all over the world, including Gabby Reece.

Reece, who takes Stemregen regularly and shared that she has felt better since starting it, is just one example of the way Drapeau’s supplement is helping athletes and wellness seekers achieve optimal health. Used in conjunction with proper diet and nutrition and accompanied with exercise, the supplement can lead consumers to recover faster and perform better. This wonderful day of wellness, backed by Reece and Drapeau’s expertise proved that the best approach to achieve optimal health is one that is all encompassing, starting with what you ingest (food and supplements), how and how often you move, and how you help your body recover (breathwork, saunas, etc.).
